Our local town of Paignton is just a short walk away. With various blue flag beaches, Pier with arcades, Green with events/activities, and a traditional seaside town.

The South West Coast Path.

We are adjacent to the South West Coast Path (part of the route is along Goodrington Beach and is the section from Brixham to Torquay.)

The South West Coast path has recently featured in the book The Salt Path and now a film of the same name starring Gillian Anderson.

We are perfectly situated as a base for those walking the South West Coast Path, for the Salcombe to Seaton section (and possibly from Wembury to Seatown). The manager, David, has completed it would be happy to offer advice or simply swap stories !!

Brixham Harbour and Marina.

Brixham is amongst the last of the working fishing ports in the UK. Its great for a stroll around the harbour and out along the sea wall and through the winding lanes and steps of the town or out to the Berry Head National Nature Reserve with its stunning views and Napoleonic fort and wildlife

It has a diverse range of restaurants, specialising in locally caught fish dishes as well as its many cafes and bars.

It certainly worth a visit, just a short distance from Paignton and easily accessible by catching the no. 12 bus

Torquay Harbour and Marina.

The English Riviera

Mild ocean breezes, sandy beaches and swaying Torbay Palms give the small English town of Torquay a distinctively Mediterranean feel. More than just a beach spot, Torquay boasts the famous Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves.

Agatha Christie spent most of her life here, and the town is now home to multiple film companies. With such a rich literary history, Torquay may be the perfect place to finish writing that novel or screenplay, or just to relax with a good mystery.

Dartmouth

The historic port and home of Britannia Naval College

This beautiful and historic port on the River Dart has been an important part of British maritime history since 1089.

The town is home to the Royal Navy officer training college, where all officers of the Royal Navy and many foreign naval officers are trained, which has included both previous and present members of our royal family.

Stroll around its beautiful harbour or get lost in its backstreets or drop in for a coffee or something a bit stronger in one of the many historic public houses.

Dartmoor Nation Park

The home of the hound of the Baskerville’s!

Wild, romantic, historic and beautiful Dartmoor.

Its many Tors, the outcrops of a giant volcano now eroded down to this stunning landscape.

Home to the infamous Dartmoor Prison, Princeton, built by French prisoners of war during the Napoleonic wars in 1810.
